The artist publication reflects on the emigration history of my family and the border regime of Czechoslovakia during communist rule. In the form of an essay it wanders through the historical representation of the border, the military service of my father who claimed to have been a border guard and the brittle memories of the remaining family members. The publication contains numerous stills and manuscripts from my video works, material from the archives of the security services as well as photographs made by my deceased father.
